Our Founder and Chairman of the Board
Eastern Petroleum Corporation was founded in 1969 by J. Kent McNew. Kent began Eastern Petroleum with the purchase of a fuel oil truck and a single pump gas station in Millersville, Maryland. From these humble beginnings and the infusion of his entrepreneurial spirit, hard work and perseverance, Kent has grown Eastern Petroleum into a leading marketer in the Mid-Atlantic area.
In 2005 Kent was awarded the 2005 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Maryland. Kent serves on numerous boards including the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis Bank and Trust, Valley Forge Military Academy and the South River Federation. Kent is keenly interested in environmental protection and restoration.
